you just might.
it all slows down to a crawl, you can’t get still, you can’t stay moving. watch the light wrap around your line of sight, just when you try to say that you’ve seen this one before. did you turn around just to get turned around? or did you turn around cause you had no place left to turn?
you try to hold on, but you can’t hold on. it’s not that it’s gone, no it wasn’t ever there. you can feel what you want, but you just might.
but then again you never know.
oh, you’re so easily distracted! you change your mind so many times that you can’t keep track. but by now you know there’s only one way — only one way to say you can’t stay and that’s to pick up — pick up and go.
and i won’t say i’m sorry, cause what’s done is done. i heard you say that it stays with you, well you’re not the only one.
you can say it out loud, what you think that you know. tilt your head, blink your eyes, take a breath, watch it go. well it’s not that you don’t and you know that you just might.
but you still say no.
did you just get so good at getting what you want that you’re surprised that you’re not better at it yet?
